my engine/turbo/vmount would all be the same

i would do my cage different so that i had more space in the car, i would spend the time to develope a TII trans swap

i guess what it all comes down to is what would i have done diffrent if i had more money.

all i can say is after im done with this car, after i buy a house, when im settled down. watch the fuck out for the NB build

I would have waited longer before buying my car and bought a 99+. Part of this is because of my personality. I'm not happy with 210HP. I'd probably wait for a high mileage car that someone has already added a nice suspension, roll bar, racing seats and hardtop. While waiting for "The" car I would buy a diypnp, 550cc rx7 injectors, wait for a killer deal on a turbo mani and dp. (don't care what type, log, custom SS, just needs to be quality), but I think Artech sold a nice custom set for $600. That would be my price limit for manifold and DP, buy a chinacharger like levnubins, ebay intercooler, lc1, local exhaust shop for 3" exhaust., 6 sp trans, then have the motor built with forged rods, pistons. I would set aside 10k for the project with 8k being my target.

I would only buy a complete turboed car if it had an engine with forged internals.

well i would have to say that i would probly go with an absurdflow setup now so long as all the cash i've spent on the car in the past years was refunded to me i could probly almost afford it. Either that or buy a mig and tubbing bender and make my own shit from scratch.

I have to comment on that cummins twin turbo setup, as one of my best friends is a cummins fanatic. His truck is ridiculously heavy, he has some bully dog kit on it, an air box, and a huge exhaust (not gay stacks). He dynoed it at 853 ft/lbs torque, burned up multiple Centerforce Dual friction clutches, and now has to run a dual disc clutch. That's what you call a set of balls. So that pictured twin turbo setup makes 51 lbs of boost? That's funny, cause my friend's truck makes 47psi ON THE STOCK TURBO. So please explain to me what 4psi more would benefit with the cummins twin turbo setup? Here it comes: CFM's. Same thing as running a SR20 T25 vs a GT3071. While a smaller compressor / turbine combo goes out of the efficiency range, the larger one may take longer to spool, but when it does, look the F out! If my friends' cummins ran the twin turbo at 47psi, I'm pretty sure there would be broken head bolts or some other catastrophic failure.

Blasphemy!!

That turbo is way to big.

If I had to start from the beginning again I would have done it proper from the get go.

Custom manifold, external wg, 3" dp and exhaust, 460cc injectors or bigger, MS, etc etc.

I'm happy with where I'm at now, but it took a couple different setups to get here.

I would have liked to spend more time cleaning stuff and making everything look perfect. Also of course no Voodoo box, MS+Inj. from the get go.

I would do things the same way EXCEPT

Not buy the fm suspension
Get the clutch happy meal elsewhere cheaper
Wash my car off more after salty road driving
Get 15x9 6uls in black
Get a resonated midpipe instead of straight pipe
Fixed my fucking horn and windshield washer bottle
Re-affixed the stupid splash pan
Put a roll bar in on day one
Put rubber sheathes on my stainless steel hoses. All of them
Got frame rail braces so they wouldn't get all bent up
Rolled my fucking fenders and pulled them a little

Gotten a daily from day one of modding so I could have been less stressed each time I worked on my car.

I would NOT have gone LS. I've seen far more experienced enthusiasts get stuck for years on going LS. "Swap" is such a short word, so easy to say, makes such a significant endeavor sound so trivial.

I also would have gone 4" exhaust. Why not?
