Im having a Issue finding a Downpipe flange!

I must have called over 5 online places including atp, optionmotorsport and a few others and none of them have a standard t25 downpipe weld flange, atp has this flange-

but It's for a 3.0 downpipe I believe, so what am I to do in this case, Get a ruducer to a 2.5 outlet from a 3 and go from there, would that be my best bet, Im not sure If Im going to have enough room for a 3 inch downpipe, and even if I did it would be a lil overkill for the boost levels that the turbo will be running 7-psi.

This is what I used, but paid 13 bucks for it off of ebay.

I ended up cutting most of it out to increase wastegate flow. I'd go with a divorced setup if I were to do it all over again.

This is what I'm going to use when I redo my downpipe:

so this flange should work perfect for the sr20 t25 right

I'm not entirely sure. I thought there was only one type of t25 exhaust flange. Ask the seller if it's the correct flange. Can you post a pic of your turbo?

Yea Here is the original dump pipe the turbo came with, the flange looks to be what I need, but then again Im not sure.

Stripes 09-19-2006 08:34 PM

That looks like a t25 exhaust flange to me.

RicanmiataRacer 09-19-2006 08:36 PM

so Whats my best option in your oppinion, the obx flange above looks to be similer But I could be wrong, what do you think?

Stripes 09-19-2006 08:51 PM

It all depends if you want to run a divorced setup or not. Like i said before, if I were to do it all over again, I would buy the divorced flange. If you decide to go this route, you will need this flange, a 2.25 inch ubend pipe, 1.5 inch ubend pipe and a transition pipe to what ever size exhaust you are running. OR you can buy a similar ATP flange and don't worry about the wastegate.

Again, I'm pretty sure you have a standard t25 flange. Just contact the seller to be sure.

Here are some pictures of my t25 2.5 inch dowpipe and how I customized my flange.

Show us more of the downpipe and flange that came with the turbo. Is it cast? SS? How long is it before the next flange?

Stripes 09-19-2006 09:14 PM

That's a good point.^ If it's not cast, you could cut off the old pipe and reuse the flange that came with the turbo.

RicanmiataRacer 09-19-2006 09:18 PM

Im going to get that flange, I was going to get a divorced type flange originally.

RicanmiataRacer 09-19-2006 09:20 PM

the piece that came with the turbo is cast iron, there would be no use In trying to use that to fab a custom down, from what Im told cast dos not bond well with ss steel and the bond would fail within a short period of time .

RicanmiataRacer 09-19-2006 09:48 PM

thanks for the help stripes!

bripab007 09-19-2006 10:54 PM

Yes, but how long is the cast piece? Would it fit on the car at all? Would it clear major components (e.g. frame/shelves in engine bay, etc.)?

magnamx-5 09-20-2006 12:24 AM

that is what i was thinking see if you can get it in and on and then another flanged peice to some pipe to the cat.

Kelly 09-20-2006 01:37 AM

You guys should all hit me up when you need stuff from ATP. I can save you some money.

RicanmiataRacer 09-20-2006 08:20 AM

I wanted to use to original dump pipe, however since the turbo fits on the manifold different to that of the sr20 manifold the dump goes upward towards the hood, so It would be really hard to do anything with the stock dump, From looking at the original manifold of the sr, the turbo apparently bolted up upside down ,therfore the dump was in a different position on the hotside before hand, So basically using the cast piece would make life harder than it is so Im going to get the divorced downpipe flange and call it a day.

bripab007 09-20-2006 08:25 AM

Gotcha! Thanks for satisfying our curiosity :)
