Default Injector compatibility info PLEASE

Im here in australia and i need some injectors for my 1.6.

I really want to know exactly which rx7 injectors fit.
I dont care if they are low impedence. I dont care if I have to file the connectors, i just want to know what models, cc's and colours drop into the rail and physically fit.

Ive read the diy sticky many many many times. But here in Oz im having trouble with anyone actually knowing exacty what injectors they have (rotor guys on rotor forums). I keep getting ' oh yeah these are from a series 5 jap spec turbo 13b', and rubbish like that. which leaves me not knowing if they will physically fit the rail and manifold.

Thankyou for all you help.

Dann

ok ok ok. I said, Ive read it. what i dont know is if the injectors physical size (ie length, plugs, and o rings) changed between countries or between series 4 and 5 FCs.

What I mean is that will a series 4 FC injector physically fit, with the exception of electronics (impedance and plug shape) and if americas series 4 and 5 is the same as aussie varieties..?

Anyone know?
And yeah ive been a member here ages and im on here every day and only like 15 posts, so I dont ask questions i can find a straight answer to.

Thankyou,
Dann

The RX-7 injectors are the same across all countries. The early series 4 injectors are low impedance. Beginning in mid-88 Mazda switched to high impedance. The series 4 injectors use a Bosch style connector. The series 5 injectors have a Denso style connector which is what the Miata uses. So, ideally, you will want 89-92 Denso style, high impedance injectors for your Miata to be drop in.

In the FAQ post they give the year and part number also a bit of searching on google or here will show witch injectors fit. Miatas from 90-05 use 11mm top and bottom o rings also here are the rx7 injectors you were talking about THESE FIT MIATAs. 89-91 RX-7 Turbo 550cc - purple top #195500-2020

Also i know your new but just a warning question like this get people flamed hardcore here. Im not going to flame you but just a warning as there are some people here that will.

cheers mate, i wouldnt say new, ive been here a while and on here every day.

Thanks for the warning but im ages ahead of that.
I think i poorly phrased my question thanks for giving sizes.

Problem solved I just payed the money for some purple tops rather than stuff around.

Cheers,
Dann

All you need to do is buy my 460cc RX7 injectors w/ RC clips right now and you'll be good.

Recently cleaned too!

I offered to buy them already, you need to beat 190 australian shipped to sydney.

Miata mike: stock rods and pistons, albeit polished crank everything balanced revs to 8500rpm all day long, worked head, 140 rwhp aspirated, computer, cams, solid lifters, 6 speed, button clutch, 4.1 torsen, HKS hipermaxx coilovers, stripped completely, blah blah, about 10.5 compression, t25 turbo, pretty big intercooler possibly water injected. Got any tips? Im gunning for something over 220rwhp with no lag at all.

Cheers,
Dann

If your shooting for 8500rpms you need forged rods first off. If you try to rev stock internal motor you will stretch the rods.

If i were you forged rods and pistons, also do a 9.5:1 comp. Run a gt2560r with that turbo you will have almost no lag and with a standalone ecu you could make 275whp if you do it all the right way. Also set the rev limiter to 7200rpms unless you plan to run a gt30r or bigger no need trust me.

Now would be a good time to start thinking about some engine management. Other than that it sounds like your off to a pretty good start. Be careful running high compression with a turbo on pump gas. I bet it will take some careful tuning. There's not much room for error or much boost either. I don't like the idea really but it's your car. There's not much of a safety margin against detonation.

Search around. You should be able to find an answer to any question you may have.

I has a full standalone, and ive been running a 8400rpm rev limiter for 20,000km. It was built by a bloke who owns a machine shop for himself who claims to have spent over 20 hours balancing not that it matters, but i plan to rev it to just 7500 boosted.

also the t25 is very similar to a gt2554r.
Any advice on final timing figures or even just a rough idea how much retard it will need coming into boost just to get me started?

I run 15 degrees timing at max boost, max rpm. I pull about 1 degree of timing per 1 psi of boost depending on which part of the map I'm in. That's just me, though. Mine seems to run well like this but not all results are typical. It depends on the individual motor and setup.

Check around, there's a few timing threads that go into more detail.

A timing map for your setup will need to be done very slowly and with precision if not boom there goes the motor. I would start off with very little timing and also invest in a knock light your going to need it. Im not sure what you have for gas out there but in the USA we have 87-89-91-93. I tuned my car on 91 and run 93 so that way i know knock should be a thing not to worry about. Also helps for when you get bad fuel.

thanks for your advice, can you recommend a place to buy a knock setup, id prefer a light rather than logging on my laptop through the standalone. also ill run it on 98 or 100 octane pump fuel here.
