you have been emailed! :)

Gotpsi? 05-27-2010 05:16 PM

Ill be at buttonwillow to test the new mani on the 6th come check it out if your in the area. Ill have some pics up on as soon as I get them I got it installed and started, runs great I have not driven it yet up the throttle response is much quicker surprisingly considering the size of the plenum, I am very exited to test it and offer custom builds soon.

johnmatt 05-27-2010 06:04 PM

Can't wait to see the results

Gotpsi? 05-28-2010 09:52 AM

The waiting will be over soon Ill be one the track next sunday.

johnmatt 05-28-2010 10:07 AM

Just in time for me to break in my new engine and blow up my 1.6 rear. Now I'm gonna have to choose Ford 8.8 or another 1.6 rear and intake mani. Damn you for presenting choices!!!!

Gotpsi? 06-08-2010 09:56 AM

Ok track tested and ready to go. I ran on Sunday and had a blast, top end power was much better and never drops off. Ill get more details up at the end of the day also will be on my web site by the end of the week. Also tested and confirmed the new end link kit, and Cobalt friction brake pads, all worked very well and will be available, as well as the manifold now.

Ahhhh nice!!! Cant wait...

Here are some installed pics, I still need to reconfigure my coolant reroute but this will give you a good idea of how it fits.

I will have options and pricing up by the end of the week on my web site. as well as the other products I mentioned in my previous post. Also for those of you that emailed me I will be contacting you this week as well.

na8psi 06-09-2010 12:49 AM

sweet, any dyno testing on this?

dgmorr 06-09-2010 12:58 AM

I'd buy one just to make swapping injectors that much easier. Looks great.

turotufas 06-09-2010 01:21 AM

Very nice! and if they price is right, might have to start saving again.

na8psi 06-09-2010 01:25 AM

Yea good question, will this intake work with my 1.8 and rx7 460s

shlammed 06-09-2010 12:40 PM

This has me thinking.

I like thinking, but my wallet doesnt.

How well does the throttle work... any response improvements in having the massive TB?

FRT_Fun 06-09-2010 12:51 PM

Looks nice, I'm in the market for an intake mani fright now too! Assuming it fits a 99 head.

neogenesis2004 06-09-2010 12:57 PM

I'd be more interested in how it holds up long term with the miata's crazy vibration.

tasty danish 06-10-2010 01:05 AM

Do we know a price yet? Are we afraid to say? This is killing me!

18psi 06-10-2010 01:07 AM

if you have to ask........

..you can't afford it

Yeah, I know the saying genius, except you're wrong. Now when this is posted,

"As far as pricing goes for now, my goal is to make racing affordable for the average guy. So the price will be reasonable, plus I have almost no overhead."

it makes a guy wonder, "hmm, should I pay 450 for begi or get what this dude has supposedly cheaper?" Obviously price is a factor in this build or he wouldn't have said that, and while "affordable" has been thrown around quite a bit, no numbers yet.

Now quiet honey, the men are talking, go find something to do before I crush you with my wallet. ;)

18psi 06-10-2010 01:22 AM

midol?
Cheapest its been done for so far was by nubbins who got a hondur manifold and modified it for a total of 400.
Now if you're so anxious for the price why don't you pm him before I crush you with my cock? kthnxbi

awww come on, that's just how ya'll talk to each other on here. I figured you'd appreciate it. Besides you started it. Do you need a reach-around? :makeout:

****
damn you and your ninja edit. Well we've been saying price would "be up today" for 2 days now...

Gotpsi? 06-10-2010 01:26 AM

Ok already I dont have all the details worked out yet, but I will be offering many different options, available for any engine. from $300 up to as much as you would like to spend. $300 will not get you one like in this build, something simpler like the begi.

18psi 06-10-2010 01:32 AM

For a 99+ as well?

Oh snaps, suddenly I'm a whole lot more interested:)

Gotpsi? 06-12-2010 09:08 PM

My web site is updated, not perfect but has more info now.

johnmatt 06-14-2010 09:03 AM

Prices don't look bad. I'll be hitting you up soon after I get a few other things sorted out

Braineack 06-14-2010 09:30 AM

I should start building things for my miata only to use the pics for hype and to then try to sell them to you fools.

like your intake manifold?

what about your old exhaust?

Gotpsi? 06-16-2010 11:21 PM

I have been getting some definite interest in builds for 99 heads, how many of you would be interested? I am sourcing some flanges and its always cheaper to buy multiples, and that would make things cheaper for everyone. Also would anyone be interested if I made a carbon fiber model? if so I may sell the one Im using and start another proto type, the velocity stacks will be the hardest part of the build, but I think I could pull it off.

Aricjm15 06-17-2010 12:15 AM

I was linked to this thread and now I must change my pants. When can I start tossing money at you?

I've got a new one with miatas. 'If you have to ask...you probably can afford it.'

Miatas are very cheap compared to a lot of cars.

FRT_Fun 06-17-2010 07:55 AM

^Which is why miata owners are cheap.

Gotpsi? 06-17-2010 08:43 AM

Haha not all miata owners are cheap. I can take orders any time, most of the info is on my web site in my sig. I take credit cards if that helps anyone.

:wavey:

Looking awesome.

ftjandra 07-03-2010 09:48 PM

Hey,

Wow, you work fast as you just got that flange on Thursday! I assume it worked out OK? Mostly interested in what you thought about the runner tube recesses as they were a huge help in my build. Let me know if you need something else.

jtothawhat 07-03-2010 10:16 PM

I'm shooting you a PM right now about an IM...

18psi 07-03-2010 10:22 PM

Would a stock fuel rail and all the crap that goes along with it mount right up to one of those?
That's pretty much a deciding factor for me right now.

FRT_Fun 07-03-2010 10:29 PM

Doesn't the fuel rail mount to the head? I can't think of anything that mounts to the intake manifold actually. The only thing that would connect to the mani would be the vac line.

GeneSplicer 07-04-2010 12:15 AM

In for numbers... wanna see that torque curve with those stacks. I just got a 99 head that needs a manifold. How about sending me the one you just started for testing :)

FRT_Fun 07-04-2010 12:16 AM

Uhh that one is mine and no you can't has it :D

GrahamC 07-06-2010 07:17 AM

Would like to see some real figures for this, like before and after Dyno results. No offence to the OP, but I'm not sure why people are so keen to jump on this by simply hearing "it seems to pull harder at the top end" from someone they've probably never met.

FRT_Fun 07-06-2010 08:13 AM

I doubt I'll do a before and after pull. Definitely an after. Since this will have my water injection ports built in there would obviously be a large change in power between the stock one and this one.

thymer 07-06-2010 09:22 AM

Nice work on the IM. Please remove the American flag from your workbench, it is not a shower curtain and should never be used in that fashion.

There are quite a few people that posted up before/after plots showing increase in topend from these manifolds.

However

I do agree with you: for THIS SPECIFIC design/style it would be very helpful to see the gains.

Otherwise its just "ooh that's shiny and looks really cool, lets put it on and cross fingers and hope it makes more power"

In for dyno plots and feedback from the 1st few prototypes.

As you are making this a business... going to become a sponsor?

GeneSplicer 07-06-2010 08:38 PM

Cha-Ching... he can sponsor me by sending me a FREE manifold for testing. ;)

+1

shlammed 07-06-2010 10:35 PM

why such a small plenum?

Gotpsi? 07-07-2010 12:10 AM

Thanks to all for the feed back, Ill have more pics up soon. Hopefully some of the first mani buyers will dyno there cars, so we can see some good numbers, obviously with the shorter runners it is designed for high rpm power, and the plenum is much larger than stock, for the 1.6 the plenum is 170% of the engine's displacement for example, and the 1.8 plenum is just slightly larger due to the just found out fact that the runner separation requires a longer plenum. I designed the prototype to fix the problems I was having with the stock manifold which was a major loss in power at the top end, and I accomplished just that and was pleased with my on track testing for that reason. The problem is caused by insufficient plenum volume and really long runners which I obviously fixed. As for the question of being a sponsor, I know what it takes and will once I start making money, Im spending enough just to get started right now. I love my flag, it is there to be seen from anywhere in the shop, it was given to me by my grandfather who served in WWII and I do not intend in anyway for it to be disrespectful, It is not there to be a curtain or any sort of covering, just to be proudly displayed.

Aricjm15 07-18-2010 03:38 PM

Bump from the almost dead. Any new pictures to post up?
I got my deposit in and I am fucking excited.
How hard is it going to be to put this thing in with the motor in the car?

FRT_Fun 07-18-2010 03:53 PM

He just finished mine. I'm pretty excited about it. Hopefully he doesn't mind, I'll post up a pic in a sec here :D

(He said he still had to clean it up some)

Der_Idiot 07-30-2010 05:56 PM

I'm very interested, but I want to get a stock/new manifold dyno since I have other areas that are needing... investment.

I'd certainly take a 99 compatible one down to my local dyno shop and have it tested vs. my VICS intake, god knows I've spent enough there already..

I wonder, how would the FM pre-molded silicone link up with a stock TB? Would it even fit?

Aricjm15 07-30-2010 07:11 PM

I'm sure it would need some type of adapter. I was told I need to get a ls1 throttle body for mine, they are 75mm at the smallest. I think stock is somewhere in the area of 52mm.

Gotpsi? 07-31-2010 02:36 AM

none of these mani's have the TB in the stock location, I could use the stock TB if some one wanted to but I recommend something bigger, the LS1 TB's are just so easy to come by, you can get them off of any F body or corvette forum.

Gotpsi? 07-31-2010 02:38 AM

This one would be the closest to stock location but defiantly not exact.
