Thank you for including an estimated completion date in the photos. It's refreshing, after reading the BME thread.

I'm stoked that you came back in time to share future design plans with us :). Seriously though, I've had an inkling to have a manifold made for a while now, so I'm excited to see what other people do. Good luck!

BME? not sure what that is but, I am looking for a 1.6 manifold to start my build, or I will have to wait till after my next track day in February to finish it up. It will be a cluster of ideas I have seen in my research. I had my father in law machine up these velocity stacks to start with. I already have the most of the materials that I need but am still deciding on a domed end cap or a bend that will transition from one end of the plenum to the other. I also am debating using a ls1 throttle body since I have them laying around from my camaro build.

Where did you get these, or did you make them yourself?

Father in law machined them it seems.
What size material did you start out with on those stacks. Pipe or round stock?

they all started off as a solid 4" piece of aluminum

I wish I had the tooling to make them my self, I would have some really cool stuff if that was the case.

Damn that would take forever to do on my manual lathe

Haha it was done on a cnc, he is head of the machine product family for the naval base in San Diego.

I have access to one at the community college. I'm also in a CNC class, maybe I'll try making something like this....

Gotta learn how to weld aluminum too. That's where i learned; community college.

I learned in my chassis fab class. Its my favorite material to weld.

I tig aluminum every day. I love switching it up and welding stainless cause of the pretty colors.

Stainless is not the norm for me, my turbo manifold was my first big project with it, I feel that is is more temperamental than aluminum and a pain because you have to back purge it.

Really excited to see how this ends up. I'll never afford one but curious on your early pricing estimates?

As far as pricing goes for now, my goal is to make racing affordable for the average guy. So the price will be reasonable, plus I have almost no overhead.

Thats always been my philosophy as well. Good on ya for not asking an arm and a leg!

I think an intake shoot-out would be pretty sweet in maybe a year.

I have been thinking of doing some kind of exchange program for the 1.6 guys, so I can have one ready to ship when I recive the old one. I will also build to suit w/ differnt plenum volumes and runner lengths to suit the needs of different set ups. This one will have a 1.7% plenum with 6" runners and will use a LS1 throtle body.

If this comes in at a price reasonable to a honda swap I'd look into it. Good luck

Just about done, now just need to finish porting the stock casting, and drilling and tapping the holes for the vacuum ports.

I will soon, Im getting ready for Buttonwillow on June 6th with NCRC. So it will defiantly be done by then and tested for the Laguna Seca miata challenge I plan on attending. So I may be offering exchanges in the next month or so. I am also trying out Cobalt friction products on 2 different cars at this event, if they are as good as they say I will be carrying them as well.

Looks awesome, wish I had skills to do that.

Haha its a 75mm stock ls1 TB why because I already had it, its all about the free. and I may not bother with idle control since its just a track car, I was just wondering if it would be worth doing.

Any thoughts on doing a 1.8 version? I tried visiting some things on your website but Im under the impression that its still under construction. Just wanted to see what you offer as far as forced induction and what 1.8 work you do.

I would do a 1.8. my web site should have some more things up on it in the next month or so, I still have a 45-50 hour a week full time job other than running my own business so things are a little slow at the moment, I will not sell anything that I have designed until I have track tested it, so I wont be selling the mani until next month. I have 2 versions of end links that will be available to. And will possibly be selling Cobalt Friction products. I am already a Hoosier tire, Magnuson, and STS turbo system dealer. I can get BFG and Nitto tires as well. And I am working on some race type carbon body parts, meaning skins for the doors, trunk, hard top, finish panel w/o licence plate cut out, bumpers and so on. they will not have provisions for conventional mounting but will be ultra light and strong for the track.

whats the pricepoint?

I street my track car and its fine idling happily at 900. I run errands in it and everything else without issue, ditch the idle stuff.

I want one!. Nice work. I cant make one, wish there were some intakes we could by for our cars- I guess BEGI has one, but wow, If you have a Chevy, you can pick from 100 intakes. If we want one, we have to make it:)

Ill start working up a price soon, I have to source some things as the velocity stacks that I used will not be a repeatable item, I am looking into some others that are readily available.
