Intercooler piping and DIY
1. Question for the diy'ers that have the compressor outlet pointing down.
How are you guys assembling, where are you getting the pipes for the hot side? 2. If you have a T25 and have the outlet facing upwards. How did you assemble your intercooler piping, and please post pics. Thank You |

Sweet, just sent my turbo away to get the holes widend for larger studs and have it converted for downward output.

Glad you grew a set and decided to clock it.

A few pics taken when I was tack welding my IC piping:

How are you guys building the pipes on both sides? ebay kit pieced together?
|
these might help- components are covered by most of the ebay kits. There will be some tweaking needed for your compressor exit.

My layout it almost exactly the same as m2cupcar's 2nd diagram, except I welded up the transitions to the TB and compressor outlet rather than using 45 or 90 degree silicone hoses. Jeff |

Well im not, im having my mechanic doing it. Hes also going to incorporate a new wastegate actuator, the kind that FM sells that I got for 20 bucks.
Turned a FM non adjustable wastegate actuator into an adjustable one. |

Its pretty fucking slick, I wish to have talents like that one day.

Sam, I think you're easily impressed... but that's a good thing. It keeps a guy happy. :D

----------- Heres a question. One of the threaded bungs for the wastegate bracket has no end. Its just a hole straight into the compressor housing, while the other has an end. Is that normal? I am guessing this is normal but with the bracket attached it seals the hole, but without it its gonna leak. |
So leave the bolt in it. It's nothing new to have it like that, just don't leave it wide open.
|
OK. Ill go get a bolt then.
Better to ask then be sorry later. ;) |
