ITT: Post pics of your rear exhaust routing
More specifically, a 3" and how it is manipulated around the differential/frame.
|
There used to be a ton of threads that popped up (cause we've had this discussion 100x times here already) just did a search and can't find em. Not sure wtf happened.
But to answer your question: its a close fit, but a 45* and a u-bend will basically get the job done. Search for y8s, brains, turbotims, and my exhaust build threads. There are TONS more but these are just off the top of my head. *edit: here's mine crappy lighting but you can still kinda see it http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g9...2/IMG_0444.jpg Fits like a charm and made a huge difference from 2.5" |

Thanks for the pictures guys - I've found it's hard to search for something as specific as this.
Any problems with banging? I was concerned that the 3" pipe would not fit through there, and it appears to have very tight tolerances. |
It all depends on how precisely you mount it. If you're off by even 1/4-1/2" it will bang pretty much.
if you have an NA and don't have that rear brace it makes it a whole lot easier too btw |
There's a lot of people with cut bumpers but not a lot of driver's side exits. Looks like it could be done with less drastic bends.

Enthuza 3" 5x11x22
The angle of the pic makes it look like there is hardly any clearance, but there's at least 1/4". I put little hose clamps on the hangers to prevent it from sliding around and banging. https://www.miataturbo.net/picture.p...pictureid=1254 |
Same 5x11x22 hugenaflow.

My V8 car, 3", tighter routing considering it's going around a Ford 8.8 diff instead of a little 7", plus my diff support. If there is a will, there is a way.

I might somewhere. Perhaps Paul does. All I have easily now is this one, doesn't help you though.
http://www.inoneear.com/outtheother/...ulmuffler1.jpg EDIT: this was this exhaust before the muffler. Now the muffler exists on the right side of that vertical bumper support. http://www.inoneear.com/outtheother/...ulexhaust2.JPG http://www.inoneear.com/outtheother/...ulexhaust4.JPG |

And a question to anyone with a cut bumper: Do you still have the bumper support in there? Is it just trimmed or is it eliminated completely? If the latter, I don't want to do it because then it's pretty much guaranteed as totaled if you get hit, but if there's a way around it. Is the upper part still in there? |

Here's the only pic Paul has of it on his car. He spray painted it black so it wasn't so obvious, IMHO it looked very slick & sounded great (5x8x14" magnaflow w/ resonator). I modified the image, cranked up the brightness so you could even see the muffler/tip. Paul still had the bumper supports I think, again painted them black.
