Default junkyard Dog

I am starting a project to build a turbo 1.8 to drop into my FC3s, as it has blown it's motor. I have a T4 laying aroung off of a allis-chalmers turbo diesl 4 cylender (part #409040-9010). Here are all of the stampings/meaurements on it:

Compressor side:
3" OD intake
Wheel diameter=2 5/8"
34 stamped in the face beside the compressor wheel
16 stamped inside the radius of the intake
AiResearch T04 stamped around the snail
.60 stamped inside the output pipe

Exhaust side:
Wheel diameter=2 1/4
exhaust output diameter = 3" OD
.58 stamped inside the exhaust manafold side (input)

I know this is probally too much info, but rather have it that way. Would ths turbo be a good canadate for the motor? Would my stock RX-7 turbo (Hitachi) be a better fit ?? I also have a T-Bird Turbo coupe turbo(T3.60/.63) lying around, but it is in pretty rough shape, and I would rather not trust it. I have fab skills, so making flanges and manafolds are not an issue. My injectors are 550cc, and I have standalone engine management to control fuel, along with my FMIC (so all of the supporting mods are taken care of). From what I have read, the T4 family is a little big for the motor, but this is a smaller one. I am looking to get as much power as I can, of course. I would like it to start making boost aroung 3000 rpm, but I am flexible. Thank You.

why bother, LS1 with a T56 is about 2500, much more bang for the buck.

yeah go with a V8 of some kind. Or if you really want to stick with a four, get something bigger, like a KA24DE out of a 240SX.

Thank you for your input, but I do not agree. The LS1 swap is going to cost way more than $2500, I was looking into an LT1, but I still can not pull that off for less than $4000. The K24 is junk, in my opinion, I would rather do a SR20, but that puts me back over $3000. I have a 1.8 out of a escort GT for $200, got a Miata trans for $120, some I/C piping, coolant piping, plug my standalone into it and re-program, exhaust piping, and off I go. What I need to know is which of the turbo's is a better fit for the 1.8 BP engine. I have looked, but I can no find any info for that small of a T4. Thaks again.

The T4 is still probably going to be real laggy. i don't know anything about the rx7 turbo. the t3 would work pretty well, but if you don't want to use it...
get a T3 s60.

A KA is very similar to a BP. only it has a 600cc advantage... Definately not junk.

Why noy sell the FC and get a miata with a BP already in it. It would be faster than the FC...

I agree with your disagree.

As for the T4, it's a junkyard dog. Just say F-it, that'll justify just about anything, and do it. Just spin the 1.8 as high as possible.
