Default Old Begi Areodyne manifold to T3 adapter plate

Well in my quest to turbo my Miata I made some rookie errors being new to forced injection and I must admit not being very bright.

I bought a turbo manifold that was made for a turbo that no longer exists under the mistaken impression it could easily (and cheaply) be modified to fit any current turbos. Then I went and bought a T3 turbo for said manifold only to find out that my manifold could only be modified to fit a T25 turbo and it would not be cheap.

My goal was to have a nice strong cast manifold but not pay an arm and a leg for it but now I was looking at perhaps having to buy a new manifold anyways.

In trying to find a solution someone here suggested an adapter plate and then someone made me a drawing for one and I took the drawing the manifold and a T3 flange I had to a machine shop.

$100 later I got this: it's 1" thick steel (the flange shows how the turbo would not mount to the manifold as is) all drilled and tapped and uses the exisitng holes for the old aerodyne turbo flange. Pretty neat huh?

That is pretty cool, IIRC another person made one using 3/4" steel.

I was gonna go 3/4 but figured another 1/4 of meat for the studs to hold on to couldn't hurt.
