i used the megan manifold for my SR20DET and if you weld little tabs on the runners and one from turbo flange to the manifold flange you should be safe. or just wrap it in DYI wrap sould help from major temp changes.

From the pics it looks like the compressor outlet is blocked by.. is that a polished greddy intake pipe? Good start, the Greddy pipe is way small and you'll want something bigger soon.

Andyfloyd - can you tell me where it's gonna crack and how to avoid it? Although taken that I'll be fitting a SS bracket from the bolt hole on the top of the turbine housing to the block to assist in bearing the weight.

I don't know what a Megan manifold is (although I dated a girl named Megan many years ago - she had a nice manifold) - anyway the turbo is a TDO4 15? G

I realise it looks from that photo that I'm gonna have troubles routing the intake pipe from the compressor - the perspective is a bit wrong but the custom pipe has been fabricated and goes over that u-bend, through the guard and curves under to meet the IC. You'll all see it next week.

I'm not sure if you mean the pipe from the compressor outlet to your I/C. Probably. Have you clocked your turbo? It seems you would have many routing options.

Yes - it's been clocked - but all will become clear

I can tell you one thing for shure, thats no TDO4-15G. It looks more like a
14b. No offence or anything, but if you dont know what kind of manifold or turbo you have, you might want to do some more research before you start throwing random **** on your car.

he has a point common Arthur show us some real specs the fact that it has coolant ports and bolts to the megan style manifold speacks to being a standard dsm and not a 15g.

No offence taken. Any of you guys remember a forum member by the name of Astroyboysoup? Well - he was here for a long time doing lots of research, and sourced the various bits. I'm working off what he told me they are. He decided not to fit the kit he'd assembled and I decided to buy it (via another Aus focussed MX5 forum). For $1800 AUD for turbo, manifold, 1.8 injectors, EMB, harnesses & spare stock ECU, BOV, FMIC, and dumppipe who's quibbling?????

Counting the extra stuff I've done since the intention to turbo I'm under $3.5K AUD including upgraded radiator, mazdaspeed LSD, upgraded clutch, turbo rebuild, fabrication and install of custom IC pipework in SS.

At the end of the day - the parts list isn't random, and I'm not real fussed if it's a TD04 15G or a 13G 14B or a whatever. I'm advised by the previous owner of what he was setting out to achieve, and I'm pretty much following his plans.
