One of the senior auto-crossers locally here drove my car with the 2560 on it, the boost comes on nice and quick, 2554 a bit sooner. I've got a 2560 I've been toying with selling but that's reliant on me finding a good used gt2860rs -> gt3071... budgets suck :(

1) Get a DIYPNP, build the alternator control circuit, live with almost stalling when the A/C kicks in or you turn the steering when parking. Cost ~$450

This is one silent reason why Megasquirt sucks.

Or spend a little more money and get my unit, which doesn't have any of the issues above.

Quick question...will a zeitronix work for me? Like can I use it as a wideband for my car?

Reverant 04-30-2011 05:11 AM

Yes, you can, but it is really not recommended. It is in fact, by far, the worst wideband I have ever used. Get an Innovate MTX-L or an AEM.

spitefulcheerio 04-30-2011 07:11 AM

Really? I actually really like the zeitronix! But I'll trust you

what exactly is so bad about it?

Techsalvager 04-30-2011 07:46 AM

http://14point7.com/SLC-OEM.php
full wideband for $125

spitefulcheerio 04-30-2011 08:23 AM

epic. Thanks tech!

any other super cheap parts that you know of? I know you did a quality budget build and I'm looking to do the same thing. The T25 has a T2 flange and I can't find a decently priced manifold anywhere!

Innacurate
Slow display (if you are going for the VFD)
Slow/heavily filtered analog output
Connectors tend to break and come loose (RJ45/RJ11 that are certainly not meant for automotive environments)

Hell yeah. Everyone on m.net warned me that the people over here were jerks. All I did was post like an intelligent human being and ask for help in a respectable manner and I received a lot of great help!

Seems like a lot of the guys over there are the dickheads!

As I said to POPSTOY over there, "I've never had so many old dudes trying to jump down my throat."
