Default Manley rods, good idea?

As many of you know I'm turboing my 91 1.6 with an FM kit. Right now I'm in the break in period and have put around 180 miles on the complete setup, running well
I'm on stock internals and aiming for 250 wheel, I think I want to put rods in, are the Manley rods any good?

What's it like to install them? Anything I don't know about that I should know? Any other suggestions before I buy? Should I get pistons as well? I remember hearing the pistons/crank will do fine at 250 but the rods will go banana
I'm probably also gonna get head studs, new head gasket, not sure if I should replace the bearings.
Thanks

Manley rods good, new bearings of course.
Pull engine, build engine with OEM gaskets and pistons, new rings, hone bores, if everything else is in spec.

Will be okay up to 300whp without track use or heavy abuse. DO NOT DETONATE!

I'm currently on manely rods, and acl race bearrings (rod and main) and I'm on 22psi (gtx2867r gen2) and they've held up amazingly. My suggestion wouuld be if you have the engine apart you might as well throw some good aftermarket pistons and rings in as well, just for the peace of mind in the back of your head!

Carrillo rods for ~1000hp.
K1/Eagle/Manley rods handle up to ~600hp and are about 2/3 the cost of Carrillo rods

You have an MX5 and there aren't many modified ones that produce more than 300hp so K1/Eagle/Manley rods are all twice as strong as most built MX5s will need.

If you have plenty of cash and REALLY want the lightest rods available, go for the Carrillo rods, otherwise you can safely sleep at night knowing that K1/Eagle/Manley rods are fine and you can put the savings towards other "modz".
