Default MazdaSpeed OEM Turbo to '99 motor

I have the opportunity to purchase a complete MazdaSpeed Turbo setup for $900.00. It is claimed to have only 70k on it, no play on the shaft and comes with new 650cc injectors. I know that I will need an engine management system, was going with the Megasquirt 3 kit.
Has anyone done this before that can shed some light.

Thanks

I wouldnt do it. There are a lot of small random bits that are needed to run it that people usually don't sell. You can search and find more info about it.

I have 2 kits myself. They are a pretty much bolt on kit IF as mentioned you have all the pieces. And as long as youre okay with sub 250whp as an overall goal. more like 220/230.

-Turbo/manifold/ downpipe obviously bolt on.
-The oil drain needs the matching MSM oil pan (or custom drill line)
-You will need the coolant mixing manifold/heater core line for the compressor inlet to work.
-That MSM heater core line also has a nipple for a coolant line.
-Unless you have a 94/95 or MSM block you'll have to figure out something for the oil feed/block coolant line.

Because you're 99+ the intake/intercooler set up should be pretty much bolt on(unless someone can correct me).

Now for that price it really depends whats included in the "set up"

the piping won't clear 99-00 headlights.

its all fun and games until all the little stuff you'll need nickel and dimes you, and you're just shy of a proper turbo kit when it's all said and done, and have a teeny baby turbo that doesn't make much power, is not the most reliable, or fast spooling, or really anything good, and the rest of the hardware that's mediocre at best and the MSM guys usually upgrade anyway, you really wonder if it was worth it.

some things seem simple and nice in theory. not so much in execution

Unless it includes everything for the swap, I would just pick up a subie TD04 and onenof the Kraken manifolds for it. That will get you manifold, downpipe, lines, and turbo for the same $900. Then just do a custom intercooler setup, MS3, clutch, and flow force injectors.
