Default Megan manifold questions

First Question: I bought a Megan manifold over the weekend. It was a good price and a spur of the moment thing but the kid told me it came off of a '94. So I thought I was ok. However, I've done a bit of searching and I can't find any 1.8 Megan manifolds. Did Megan make a 1.8 manifold or is there some thing I could measure on the flange to figure it out? (ie: distance between ports or mounting holes)

Second question (if it turns out to be a 1.8 manifold): I've read that a lot of people had problems with these manifolds cracking, any recommendations on where to beef it up before installation?

If its a 1.6 It'll be the classified section shortly...

Neither of the Megan's pricelist from 06 or 08 list a miata manifold.

Is Megan Racing different than Megan? Anyway, here's some pics. Sorry about the poor quality, I'm still trying to figure out the settings on my camera.

Looks like an OBX clone, most likely for a 1.6.

Yeah that's what I came up with too, just hoping I was wrong. Does anybody have a measurement or something so I can confirm it before I dump it?

Thanks,
Frank

You know I've often wondered if someone was making knockoff manifolds under their name. They have never officially claimed they made miata manifolds in any of their catalogs or official publications. I should have asked when I was sponsored by them, but I had other things going on at the time. The name plate that's welded on is definately consistant and basically identical with the the plates welded to the SR20 manifolds we used to get directly from them. But the manifolds we got from them had alot of gussets and braces to prevent cracking, definately on par with the JIC or DC manifolds we ran at various times. I never saw one of thoes crack, but the stuff for miatas is known for cracking constantly, and only for sale on ebay apparently. I find it odd though to try and pass it off as a Megan Racing, while my experience with them and their official products was excellent, aren't exactly known for the top of the line parts. Why not weld a FullRace plate or something on it?

The point is, unless you have a welder, pass it on.

My Megan rep says he's never heard of them carrying a miata turbo manifold since he's worked there.. Only part he shows is a header (n/a) for the 1.8.

CORRECTION: Stainless Manifold + Downpipe Mazda Miata 90-97 T25 turbo, 19 LBS, MR-SSH-MMX590

I told them they need to update it to 90-93.

yeah the megan and OBX manifolds are one in the same, and usually also come with the matching (to the manifold not to the car it often seems) downpipe. Sorry but I don't think that either of the companies ever made said manifolds for the 1.8.

Frank; what are you looking for? Does it have to be a log manifold?

I just want a 1.8 manifold with a t25 flange, configuration does not matter to me much as I am not worried about making big power yet.

I bought a brand new HKS manifold with a T25 flange from a guy on ebay. He never installed it. I paid him $220 shipped to NJ. It's there right now. If you need it, let me know and you can have it for the same price.

You can pm me.
