I like to make things... and cars happens to be my focus for the last 6yrs. I basically compared notes on proven cars/setups. Balanced budget/design etc... and worked towards building what I wanted to put on track.

Helps to have friends with the right tools and experience to build what is needed.

I do computers/IT for a living... but I need to get out... bored outta my mind.

Dyno if a cheap dyno day comes up. Otherwise lots of street tuning and then autox/track etc... if money allows... my budget has reached a dead point :p

More like... trying to buy a house with a 3car garage so I can actually spend more time doing all the small stuff.

House > car... no matter how much I love the car...

Harv 07-20-2007 05:05 PM

Ah man, now we'll never know. :(

+1

I have a sweet townhouse. Been in it a bit over 2 years now. I absolutely love it. But I find myself wanting a shop. That is the ONLY thing that will get me to move out of my current place in the next 5 years, I think.

For me, a 3 car garage just isn't gonna do it. Garages are for parking cars. Shops are for building stuff.

Heh... its a 3.5 car garage with a workshop in the basement of the house... its got room for my addictions :p

Not running... running into MS issues. Will keep troubleshooting.

easy. grab a beer.

open door. reach under the dash with your non-beer-bearing hand until what you touch causes a pitch change. unplug the clip on that little box.

done. finish beer. :)

Did 1.8 brake swap and SS lines... haven't gotten around to putting track fluid in and bleeding yet.

Converted my MS back to DIYautotune mods... going to give their format another try... wish me luck... sometime this weekend :p

what throttle body is that? is it just me or is it a 1.6L TB without the IAC on the bottom. more info and pics please. Im in the process of doing this same style build up and need as much info as possible for a custom plenum.

thanks
brad

akaryrye 07-24-2007 09:37 PM

he used a nissan throttle body because it was in his garage, a bit larger than the miata piece, has a variable tps sensor, and he was making a custom intake manifold. Adapting that to the miata manifold would be pointless and a waste of time.
