I've heard that these, although small, are about 75% efficient. Is there a need to upgrade them when running about 9.0 compression & 10 psi? How about 15 psi?

Thanks,
Jim

I would upgrade at stock power, to be honest.

You can sell them on the forums and use that money to buy an ebay unit that can handle 15psi with ease, although, I'm not sure how safe 15psi is from the stock MSM turbo.

Ive got one on my car with the Rotrex and its seriously tiny. I'm only pushing 6psi and I can tell it takes longer to make boost, so I can tell you they are not super free flowing. It does somewhat cool things down, but its so short that I don't think the air spends long enough in the core at higher engine RPM to make a huge difference. And before someone asks, no I don't have logs to back up my supposition

Do it once, do it right, buy a Precision 350 from Trackspeed and duct it well. That will be the "future proof" solution for any other upgrades you might also do in the future. Do some searches here at MT. A lot of guys like the CXRacing ones from ebay, as well as the Mishimoto and Godspeed units.

Check out Mazda-speed.com. Intercooler upgrade is a day 1 mod for most of those guys, and there is a reason for that.
