It's a little hard to tell, but if your crankcase is plumbed back into the intake, vent it or put a catch can on it at the very least. Replace your radiator as well; when they turn brown, they are brittle and have a tendency to pop. Could take a week, could take a year, but it's best to deal with it on your timetable. Also, get rid of that turbo blanket. It does no good.
Nice clean build, otherwise. |

Are you running the oil feed line off a "T" at the oil pressure sender? And definitely get the filter put on that Blitz BOV.

this a link to the kit. the only have pics of the 99 up kits i believe,
BEGi if you look in my third pic and look at the left corner of the valve cover you can see the sending unit with a blue wire coming off it! |
+1 on the rad, mine didn't even look that bad when the top cracked. Partsgroup has brand new Koyos with larger than stock capacity for $142.

somewhat of a update!
right now im swapping in a 6 speed transmission and a 3.9 diff from an 03! everything has been going pretty good till now. my old trans and diff are out and gone, and im working on taking the clutch and flywheel off to take off the 5 speed trans plate thingy and put on the 6 speed trans plate thingy. then it hit me..........i dont have a fucking clutch alignment tool to put my clutch back on :vash: as soon as my roomate gets home ill shoot some pics with his camera! oh does anybody know who sell the SS braided clutch line? while i was under the car i noticed mine leaking at the joining of the rubber to hard-line! |
Are you desperate? Find a clutch kit at local parts store. Make sure you can return it before buying. Purchase, take home and slit the shrink wrap just enough at the edge of the cardboard backer to slide the tool out. Use it and then reinsert and return the kit. No harm done. ;)

i just felt like updating my build thread! :D |
If you're stuck, let me know...I'll mail you my clutch alignment tool as long as you return in when you're done.
|
Seriously go buy (or borrow) a professional alignment tool. The ones that come in the cheap kits are so flimsy (hollow) that I invariably have trouble getting the tranny to line up.
I finally borrowed one from my mechanic uncle, and it made it much easier. Straight in, first time. ACT Alignment Tool 1994-2005 Mazda Miata MX5, 1.8L, 215 and 225mm, Automotive, Parts & Accessories, Clutch/Flywheels at Underbid.com |
rotornut lives like 20 min from me he may still have his, if he does ill be borrowing his, and my roomate just got back and he said he would lend me the money to temporaily buy the clutch kit and then when im done using the part we can return it! :bigtu:
