Default Need a new manifold

So my ARTech manifold took a dump after years of track abuse. Unfortunately Abe is no longer making manifolds.

Is there a new "goto" fabricator for custom manifolds and exhausts?

If you want to buy new, Kraken is good if you aren't in a rush.

If you want it repaired, can't help you there.

but his Abe mani lasted quite a while. You know how to build one fairly well, if OP is willing to pay for multi-pass welds.

You would have have to work in the external waste gate.

It it looks like a log, rather than Absurd Flow.

Regarding other comments, Kraken is cast, not custom.

Are the Trackspeed manifolds completely off the market now? If so that's a shame.

Trackspeed option is my first choice. Sent an email to Andrew the other day. Waiting to hear back.

I believe that TSE is having issues with the foundry doing the casting at the moment. So until that is solved, I don't think they are selling manifolds.

Shoot me an email anyways.

For the record, my artech manifold is cracking in the same manner as the manifold Lars built for me.

Between the elbows (or tees) and the exhaust flange?

If so, that is interesting to me, as that was where I had no issues. Now that we got 100% penetration on butt welds, I have had no further problems. I also cut the flange, even though it has been said to not be needed on a welded manifold.

More like the T with the turbo flange #2 tries to pull the down from the elbow for #1 and the T for #3. Cracking between the T's and elbows, not at the head flange. I never actually had a failure, just cracking, I don't have Lars' manifold anymore as it was sent to his associates for further research.

You might try contacting Kris at KO Racing in Oregon City, OR. He's built and developed John Mann's manifold on his 300hp track car over the years, and he's got it down to be very reliable, with extra bracing and welding in all the areas where any cracking has formed.

I've always said there's two kinds of welded manifolds, those that have cracked, and those that will crack. That being said, I do have a welded manifold on my own car, bolted to an EvoX/MSM hybrid turbo. It uses the stock MSM support bracket to the motor mount, and since it's a long tube/ram horn style, there's more room for it to expand and contrast with heat cycles. Time will tell, but it's held up great so far. I feel like welded log manifolds just aren't a great design for track use, but long tube/ram horn gets a bad rep for being so much weight hanging off the engine. I think they're the key to a lasting track manifold with proper bracing, under hood temp control, and maintenance.
