1.6 rockin a t3 60-1 with a .82 hotside. Going for 500 whp, at like 13k rpms.

now taking bets on if it can even spool it :giggle:

urgaynknowit 03-01-2008 09:13 PM

thats sick

reddroptop 03-01-2008 09:30 PM

Looks like a T3/T4. They don't make pure T3's that large IIRC.

Nice clean setup.

Mach929 03-01-2008 09:31 PM

lets see the manifold

mxv 03-01-2008 09:38 PM

haha second post and already busted...

its a friends turbo, i am building a turbo setup for his twincharged hatchback

but doesnt it just look like it belongs next to a 1.6 in a miata ;)

neogenesis2004 03-01-2008 09:49 PM

I'd rock it. I bet my 1.6 could spool it by 5.5k, which isnt bad when I can go all the way to 9 :)

mxv 03-01-2008 09:52 PM

haha, i honeslty dont think it would be that bad, on his hatch it spooled up that big 16g under 2 grand, so i dont see any probs at all with this turbo. i think you might accually have to wait for boost now but i think his engine revs to 9 so i think even if it spooled at 3-4 which is 2 grand later than the 16g i still think it will be extreeemely usable.

neogenesis2004 03-01-2008 10:04 PM

Is he running a B18c? I'm assuming yes, and those motors have amazing VE.

soflarick 03-01-2008 10:09 PM

What dampers are those and is that a PnP radiator?

neogenesis2004 03-01-2008 10:14 PM

I'm pretty sure those are his own fabbed shock hats. He has a previous thread on them I believe.

oh and no this is not a pnp radiator. i got a local company to make it for me and i did the brackets for it. there is no way i am paying the fucking prices some of these miata radiator guys want, its insane.

they are just stock valved koni yellows and a set of h&r race springs at 500/325 rates. running a 1" front bar and stock in the rear. fat cat progressive bump stops. i should have about 3" of travel with the control arms flat, f/r . of course i havent driven it yet, since i am still putting the car together.

teknikscian 03-02-2008 01:31 PM

nice, where did you get the sleeves? or are they custom pieces too?

cjernigan 03-02-2008 01:35 PM

They look like ebay sleeves actually. Then again they all look the same.

mxv 03-02-2008 02:02 PM

yea they are just ebay sleeves. no point and spending anything over $20 on a set of those damn things.

Saml01 03-02-2008 05:52 PM

I wanna see pics of the rest of the car, and more info on the engine. It looks nucking futs.

mxv 03-02-2008 06:34 PM

itll be running in a few weeks i wasnt going to post anything about it till then since everyone wants to see vids once a car is running. ill keep everyone posted.

just thought a miata with a 60-1 looked funny

miatamania 03-03-2008 12:12 AM

Welcome back to the land of the living :)

Zabac 03-03-2008 09:52 AM

you sick bastard...im loving those tophats...how invloved was it, cant forsee it being too dificult, something id like to consider to gain appx 2" of travel over my stock ones
i will hit you up for sure if you'd like to share some insights on what to look out for and what gauge you used and ID of...nevermind, i'll quit being lazy and do my own R/D
can you post pic showing underside of top hats...i wanna see the seat

also, can you shoot some info on your intake manifol....errrrr, correction, your mantake interfold cause that thing looks beefy, did you use a stock mani flange and just cut it, or did you build the whole thing from scratch...

one last thing, i can't believe that after all the shit you have made on your own that you still have not made a COP set-up? whats the deal? lol

jtothawhat 03-04-2008 01:53 PM

I have that turbo with a .48 hotside ;) full spool by 5,500 and it's non BB

Coppertop 03-05-2008 11:32 PM
