Haha yeah I'm around 7,000$ as it sits... Still don't have my mega squirt either. Or a new radiator, or a nice intercooler or any of the piddly things still needed. But it's just gonna take time. Engine should be in car by the time snow flies here in MN which is around October here. Then things will be slowed down a bit as well due to below zero temps and a non insulated or heated garage. The holset hy35 is a .66ar exhaust side and with the major head work and oversized valves should spool rather well I'm hoping

Yup ^^^^ fittings, nuts and bolt and special tools, add up fast.

I've yet to see a holset run at full tilt on a BP
There was a guy years ago that did 18psi, and it was quite peppy .....but that's nowhere near full tilt |

He was running an hx30.

As far as the holset hy35 I know it will flow almost 60cfm at full tilt. So it will definately move air. So time will tell as far as that goes. Whether I will have enough fuel I don't know yet Will post some more pics. And as far as rx7 trans I have a Miata pressure plate and a rx7 turbo II clutch disc that fits perfectly. Gonna see how well that works. With any luck I will have the trans in as well before snow flies. Do my best to update.

Anyone use the fat injectors like these? I may look into getting the flyin Miata rail to make this work better and possibly a return style system at this point I don't like the fitment on here and I'm Leary about the return less system. |

Those are old EV-1 injectors. They suck. Don't use them. :)

|
You need a 99-00 fuel rail.

If you want to run ALLOFIT cheaping out on injectors is a bad place to save money. Go check out the DIY thread on using mustang injectors to learn how to get EV-14 injectors for $200-250.
|
Big ev1 injectors will idle very poorly if at all. You may need to raise the idle rpm a lot just to idle smoothly.
|
I appreciate the input guys. I have found someone locally selling some deatchsworks 700cc injectors that I may pick up! This week.

Let me add some advise form someone making only ~280hp.
You NEED to do a coolant reroute Don't mess with any other radiator fans but Spal Get the FM cross flow radiator Talk to Reverant about his Enhanced Megasquirts Get rid of the heat wrap on your manifold Insulate the trans tunnel from heat, the inside of the car will get hot. |
There are other good options aside from the FM rad, but that's definitely a good option.
|
newbs. allofit build.
I'm not using the FM radiator. I'm using a triple pass.
And wrapping the exhaust is a good thing unless you are an old wife spreading old wives tales. |

Finally got the engine in the car. Still have a billion things to do. And the weather is just starting to get colder so not much more will be done. Mainly gonna start building a trans mount and get that fitted as well. And start sorting out the clutching and other odds and ends issues.

I finally got around to getting the turbo II trans mounted so I can build mounts and assess whatever other fitment issues, so far aside from cutting out shifter trans slid right in. |
