Default Nissan 200SX T28 Turbo Help?

I have the chance to buy a T28 turbo reconditioned last year off a nissan 200 sx (s14a?) will this fit?

Is it a good buy? He wants £200 with a nissan manifold and loads of other bits etc. I have asked for a price without ball the bits with just the turbo. I suspect he will come back with something like £160-180.

I know from my other thread on injectors that I should be able to get one for about £100.

Any thoughts?

arent these turbo's difficult to find downpipe flanges for? I know the SR20 is pretty popular but I could have swore that, the RB series and CA series were difficult to come by on the DP flanges? The 200sx is a CA20 correct? CA18?

Will it fit? it should, yes. L200 is about $300, whats the mileage on the turbo and why was it rebuilt?

I would be iffy about the rebuilt. Are you tracking the car, or is it a street car only? If so have you considered the 2871 from ebay. Levnubhin is putting ~300whp (mustang dyno) out of a 1.6 engine. Im personally buying that same turbo.

Did he reply with an asking price on just the turbo itself?

Flange

They are readily available elsewhere also.

They are good turbos. Flow enough to support over 300whp with internal gate and up to 330whp when converted to external.

Not to me, because you can buy those used turbos for $50-$100 all day long. For that kind of money You could buy a new chinacharger in any of several different sizes that would make more power more easily. But that is my preference. If it is used, you should inspect it carefully for wear, damage, and internal seal leakage before buying it (ask me how I know). Expect to spend $100 on a rebuild kit if you rebuild it yourself and it is just worn but not damaged. If it is in fantastic shape it might be worth $200 or more, but 200 pounds sterling? Not to me.

I see what you mean. It does seem expensive. It is reconditioned and he says it has noi shaft wear. he attached some pics which looked ok.

I would prefer to get one cheaper though. So I guess I would leave it.

What would postage be from the US to the UK on a turbo. If they are cheaper there it might be better for me to get one sent over?

I am not up on my Nissan nomenclature but FWIW the Nissan part 14411-69F00 looks to be nearly identical to a GT2560. I think this is the "S14" turbo and I got one as part of an AVO turbo kit for the Miata.

Check fedex.com and ups.com and you should find your answer pretty easily. I guess I could help if there was no other way, but most of the ebay places will ship to the UK for just a little more. It should say on their sites.

Just sorted a T28 for £155. Its supposed to be a good condition turbo with no wear and no smoke etc. Im getting the compressor inlet, outlet, exhaust dump pipe, and actuator with it. Is that all I need?

I assume I just need to fabricate a down pipe or buy one and that should be that.

So now I have 550cc injectors, LC1 lambda sensor and guage, AVO turbo manifold, boost guage and now a T28 turbo. So what do I need to complete Intercooler/Megasquirt ECU/Lots of connecting pipes?

I personally would not buy it for that price... Kinda steep. Is it off of a Zenki or Kouki model S14?

Not sure TBH. I have bought it now. I have been assured its as good as a recon turbo and in very good condition. He is also throwing in some oil lines and a few pipes I might need to fit it so im quite happy.

I asked on the SXOC site and that price seemed cheap. They where all asking around £140, 160, 200,220 etc
