No wastegate adjustment??
Okay so I just got my new GT25 in the mail.. Wastegate is supposed to be set at 14.5 pounds... I noticed there are no nuts on the shaft (haha) of the wastegate actuator... Does this mean it is not adjustable?

None of them are adjustable for pressure using the nuts on the shaft. That is for allowing generic actuators to be used on multiple turbos. It is used to set appropriate preload. The pressure at which it fully opens is determined by flapper door face area versus the force exerted by the spring within the actuator. One is an opening force and one is a closing force.
A diaphragm is also present within the actuator. It allows reference pressure from the intake tract to assist in opening the wastegate. It is possible to increase the pressure at which a wastegate opens by limiting the assistance of the pressure signal by use of a manual or electronic boost controller. This strategy is often able to generate twice the standard pressure of an unregulated actuator.
It is not, however possible to decrease the pressure of a wastegate opening unless the flapper door is held significantly open, ruining spool, creating boost creep, and making you wish you had never tried it.

And yes, that is a diesel turbo without water cooling. Diesels have cooler exhaust gasses than gasoline engines and have different compressor/turbine ratios specific to the needs of the fuel. They are designed to operate in a very narrow powerband as well.

Isn't a real Garrett supposed to have a stamped metal label with model numbers and such, like maybe riveted to that flat rectangular boss (at the 7:30 position in your first pic in Post #8)?

Pops said he gave $200 for it.. It's not going on the miata.. But I'm sure I can get some use outta it on something, first present I've gotten from him in years, this year was a "bonding" year for us due to some recent hardships.. Hope he didn't just buy a paperweight.

I wish OP would keep all his ramble threads/topics/ideas/dreams in 1 thread.
It's like watching him blindly re-discover everything that's been discussed/established/beaten to death on this site over the years.
Have we discussed using crappy ebay manifolds with adapters/spacers/other fail and aids or is that in another thread? I can't keep track anymore
lol
If it's got sentimental value, then great. Otherwise, he paid $200 too much for it cause you can buy that for 150 on ebay, and in the right fitment/sizing too.
Knowledge is not only power, but money too.

One of the nicest people you could meet, and never once have I disrespected anyone on here, and out of ALL of the people I talk to here, you are the only one who has a "higher chair" when speaking. You've turbo'd 68738726 Miata's, you know how many teeth are on a timing belt, you have the whole Haynes manual tattoed on your skull. Big deal, forums are for information, it's not a pissing contest.

Ban?! is that what you want?
I feel like every annoying little n00b that comes on here immediately thinks I'm gonna ban them just because I'm asking them to stop spamming up the forum with stupid threads, 1 for each and every single one of the ideas they have.
Then when I express my dissatisfaction, they cry "BAN", and then, when I don't, they cry about me being a big ol meanie weanie.
You have just joined a few months ago. You've already created 22 threads. you have already acquired 51 neg-cats. Need I say more?
(that means at least a couple dozen people here dislike you cupcake, not just me).
So how is asking you to keep your ramblings all in 1 thread condescending? I'm genuinely curious

No, I obviously don't want you to, and no, you aren't a "meanie wienee," you are a wise-***... But there are several things I've asked that have been answered from here, really had a lot of help, and that is appreciated.. I'm not gonna whine if I'm banned or not, and I also don't care who does or doesn't like me... This is the first and only forum I've ever joined, and in the beginning, I had no idea how a forum worked... Now, it would blow **** if all of my threads were consolidated as 1, since some are actively helping me through this build.
