Default Overboosting Issue

So i just got my turbo setup together which includes a non vvt stock 1.8 with china gt28 turbo, stock injectors, 2.5in DP with 2.25in straight exhaust, and mspnp2. Now the wastegate spring is apparently supposed to be 8lbs but the car is quickly spiking to my 12lb overboost cut. Its reaching 12psi at 3800ish RPM with about 60% throttle. I tried to test the wastegate spring and it seems to open a bit with 5 psi and all the way close to 15. I ordered a 5lb wastegate actuator to see if this is my issue but im not certain. Any ideas will be appreciated

Chinachargers are known for boost creep issues and needing the wastegate to be ported. There are some good threads on how to do it and what to do. You can disconnect the wastegate actuator and drive around to see what it does. If you're seeing more than a couple psi with the wastegate disconnected then it's just not capable of flowing enough exhaust.

Ok perfect I’ll try to disconnect the wastegate arm today and see what boost levels are at.
