100% ethanol is ~115 octane, not e85.

 

Maybe you should take a look at the definition of octane.....

All is is a measurement or reference for resistance to pre-ignition AKA stability of the fuel

 

As a rule, if you can find MBT at your intended boost level, then you could take advantage of more compression. Pump gas cars typically cannot, but some specific race-gas fueled cars under certain conditions probably can.

Unless you're exclusively running on 110, though, don't bother.

What I have done in the past was to have the machine shop hone the bore straight with a stiff hone, then build up the re-used oem piston skirt with shot/bead blasting. This creates a dimpled surface that will hold oil and will slightly build up the piston diameter so it will fit the bore properly. Hatch Engine Service does this for me locally, I'm sure that you could find a shop in your area that provides a similar service'

Also, be sure to properly clearance the end gap of the top ring; it'll likely need a little extra expansion room for high boost track/race applications
