pulling compressor/center from 16g?
Hey guys I have to pull my turbo off to repair my turbo gasket. I dont want to pull my lines, can I pull the compressor/center section?
if so, can I just undo that clamp and take apart like this?

By pulling your lines i don't really know what you mean though. Oil lines, DP, IC piping? It could be a PITA to try and leave the compressor housing in and try to remove the CHRA. Really don't see that being easily possible.
By changing your turbo gasket are you talking about the o-ring on the end of the CHRA or are you replacing the oil seals around the shaft.

oil and water, the piping yeah its just I dont want to unhook everything I just buttoned up.
Im talking about the exhaust gasket. I have to pull the manifold to get to the front 2 bolts, so... its a huge pain in the ***.

Ah bummer. The oil line is no big deal, there is no oil in it once you shut the car off. Coolant lines will still have coolant in them though.
What manifold are you running, it looks like a custom piece, or i just don't recognize it.

ok did it yesterday, went great. I had no idea taking the turbo apart was so easy? seemed exceedingly so. I rerouted my drain hose, locked down my bolts and everything seems tight again.
if you could have seen what I saw yesterday as the result of the only shadetree fabricators MORE ridiculous than me you would have seen studs grounded off and threads munged, blobs of weld on the nut to keep them from backing off, and studs attached to said nuts/weld backed out of the mount. amazing.
replaced all the studs and nuts with shorter/correct sized parts...

thanks for the heads up!
