Sorry to revive an old thread, but I have always only been able to put a little over 3 1/2 quarts of oil in my old 93, and the same for my 00.
4 quarts is too much!

you mean its not located near the starter belt?
yeah i've also always put in more than 4, but i leak oil out of almost every gasket on the motor (head,vavle cover)
