Hey guys, I have a manifold that mounts the turbo something similar, not the exact same, to Begi's common manifolds. Can I still use their downpipes since it has a flex joint for some good adjustability? I couldnt find a answer anywhere on the forum so I just decided to ask. I dont know much about downpipe engineering so feel free to lend me some knowledge of the "flex pipe or joint"
The flex joint just prevent the stresses from the moving exhaust from breaking the downpipe.
If the turbo for your manifold isnt positioned exact like begi's, it will never work with their downpipe.

Yup. The flex joint is principally there to soak up some of the vibration of the engine, and isolate the turbocharger from the considerable load of the exhaust system. It might correct for a positioning error of 4/13" or so, but I really can't imagine it permitting the use of a Bell DP on a non-Bell manifold.

aww, I was really hoping it would work. Some type of flexjoint that actually moved would be very useful though. The turbo engineers should really consider it.
