I saw these catch cans posted on the VWvortex.

This is one of the nicest cans I have seen. Phillips showed me another one today that is pretty sick(sicker than these even) but I don't really want to wait for them. These are usually around 90 raw or 100 colored but I shot out some emails and we could get em for $75 raw or $80 colored if you guys wanted to jump in.

Come on man... you know this is a Miata forum were not into those type of things ;)

Mechazawa 11-27-2006 05:47 PM

Those are slick alright, and I was just thinking I wanted one. Got Dimensions?

Kelly 11-27-2006 05:51 PM

2"x7"

TurboTim 11-27-2006 05:52 PM

They look nice.

Philip 11-27-2006 05:57 PM

those cans suck ;)

F20turbo 11-27-2006 05:58 PM

ok so, those are nice cans;)

Kelly 11-27-2006 06:00 PM

You guys don't think that 2" is too big of diameter? The valve cover port is only like 1/2" ;)

airbrush1 11-27-2006 06:33 PM

meh.... how could I hook one up???? I have filter on turbo......no intake tract...

Kelly 11-27-2006 06:53 PM

You could use a filter on one port of the can instead of routing it back to the intake.

kyle242gt 11-27-2006 07:22 PM

Have you guys never heard of PVC?!

Sheesh :D

Braineack 11-27-2006 08:07 PM

I think he's talking about making one out of pvc and watching as hot oil melts it slowly.

Kelly 11-27-2006 08:11 PM

Oops. Reading owned me.
Sorry Kyle.

I am gonna edit my post.

Mechazawa 11-27-2006 08:47 PM

You could make one out of PVC and the hot oil will not melt it because once it gets through a nice long hose it will have cooled enough for the pvc to handle.

There are lots of other ways to DIY this too, (an air compressor oil separator works great) but the price is low and nothing I make would be that nice.

Wideopen, I will take a look tomarow and see it I have a good place to put something that size.

y8s 11-27-2006 09:04 PM

where would you find the vertical mounting space for that in a miata? certainly not in my miata. that said, they are pretty slick.

Braineack 11-27-2006 11:44 PM

I had one mounted just in front of the crank case, plenty of room there.

airbrush1 11-28-2006 12:22 AM

yeah but just putting a breather on one side of it kind of defeats the purpose of having a catch can hooked up to pull those vapors/oil out and shit.... might as well not spend the money and let my cool beans breather filter just sit on the valvecover as it is now

bOObs?!
