@sixshooter , are you using as a dump valve (not recirculated) and if so, are you using a filter? Last Question, I promise (on this subject )

I use one of the metal Diverter valves and have gotten a few problems with o-ring seals inside them. I'll probably just go for one of the OEM plastic ones soon. I do enjoy putting all the spring in this one and getting some ricer sounding compressor surge before it opens fully.
Edit: On second thought I may have installed it incorrectly. After seeing this

Yeah, I thought it would logically be designed to allow the pressure to push it open but it turns out that is the job of the vacuum. And if plumbed to allow the boost to push it open, it will push it open. Poof! Boost leak!
Edit: that is probably the source of the stories of them not holding very much pressure without failing, now that I think about it.

I ordered this: which is the Kayser replacement for the Bosch, who no longer makes DV's for VW / Audi. $3.50 shipping. I wanted to try this with a new unit... for science.
Again, the Forge 007 works fine, but takes maintenance. So I'll try this and report back. And if it works, I'll sell the Forge, with all 4 springs, to someone that wants bling.
Anyone have experience with the FPC Euro folks? Lifetime Warranty sounds good.

EDIT: Possibly I have a too strong spring in it? I admit that I was not able to detect much difference between springs when I first set it up.

Put the Kayser in last night. Release is much softer and quieter. I wonder now if I did indeed run too strong a spring in the Forge, and the pressure between compressor and closed throttle was spiking before it was relieved even when I was not hearing surge.
Sure, the PSSSSH sounded cool, but a pressure spike could not have been good for things.
No time right now for trying Forge with weaker spring. Maybe some day. I’m pleased with the Kayser for now.

I looked around but thought this might be the best place to ask my dumb dumb question. Is there an actual difference in design between the Turbosmart Kompact recirculating bypass valve and the TS Kompact Vent to Atmosphere? FM shows it as two different part numbers but they look identical. What's to stop me from purchasing the vent to atomsphere and adding a hose for recirculating?

Hey guys, I bought the VW/Audi BOV listed above, I was trying to understand from what everyone said, will it be pulling unfiltered air in at idle if i just connect the top of the BOV to the manifold and the perpendicular intake pipe to the IC piping just before the throttle body, leaving the other pipe of the BOV open?
I run a MS2 1.6 TD04 build at about 8psi and i dont consider passing 12psi.
Thanks!!!

Never had an issue. For the fun of it, I tried to stick a piece of paper towel to the open end, and it would not stay.
This is how mine is mounted, and I understand how you plan to mount:
