Default Red Beast's DIY catch can

Many thanks to Matt!

Hey, I'm still looking for a link for a ventui exhaust pipe. I lost my link and after 45 minutes of searching I have given up. Anyway, here is my setup:

nice job Robert- you just need a remote purge "switch" so you can dump when the competition is getting too close a la tom slick

Looks just like mine, though flat black. Cool that you mounted it in the wheelwell. I hate putting more and more crap in the engine bay.

You should try a 0.060" restrictor in your oil feed line, I know I had to use one in my 240sx that was running a t25.

Hopefully that will help your smoking problems.

That's the plan. I ordered a restrictor before but it turned out to be the wrong one for my turbo. Now that I know I need one (or that I know the oil is coming from the turbo) I'll have to get back on it...

I really like it, especially that you're keeping the bay less cluttered and the negligible mass as low as possible. How much did all of this run you?

??? The car or the DIY catch can? The can cost me about $10. The car, hmm... I paid $6700 for the car on ebay. Sold the JRSC for $1400, paid $350 for the turbo kit, paid $300 for the wheels/tires, already had the Link ECU but you could say $1000 for it, and sold a bunch of parts off the car. I would think I have less than $8K in the car. It has really been a $0 project from the get go since I got my last red Miata totalled. I paid $10,000 for it but the insurance company gave me $8,500 for it and I sold (believe it or not) around $8,000 in parts off it and Beast while I was stripping her. I've gotten pretty lucky on the cost of some stuff. I paid $6500 for my original white Miata and I am probably still spending that same money (also wrecked, made out good on the insurance money and sale of the car).

I wasn't sure, since it lists the cost for the catch can in my write-up.

Try www.lightweightmiata.com and select catchcan on the left. Let me know if it works. I remember a while back some guys with Firefox had problems but I made a change to my frames and it fixed it.
