Relocating the windows washer fluid bottle on abs (NB - solution)
Wound the container at a OReilly parts store. Its a container for a coolant over flow but works perfectly and it fits right behind the passenger headlight right by the throttle body
the cap from the original one fits almost perfectly
Using a wide pair of scissors i decided to make a hole and add the original pump on there instead of connecting it to the bottom of the bottle but it would work either way.
I simply poked a hole and spun the scissors around till the hole was big enough, dont actually try to cut it.
The hardware from the stock water fluid container pulls right off of it
Glue glue glue :P
mounts perfectly
this is the hardware that holds it I cut off 2 of the ends of it so i can remove the container if i want to for autocrossing
All done
Now on to the installation
Measure across to see how far the holes need to be from eachother using the predrilled holes behind the headlight. I found those holes after i made my brackets so thats why i used them. I was planning on drilling so i didnt pay attention but when i saw them they fit so i used them.
Also i screwed up when i mounted it and took the picture, the metal brackets are suppose to 180 degrees the other way so the black tape is in the front otherwise the black water motor will be in the front.
One screw is by the radiator side the other is under the plastics by the tire.

Thanks for the inspiring write up. I was poking around my car last week trying to figure out where to move the windshield washer bottle to. I haven't had one for the past two years and am trying to restore some of the daily driver comforts.
What hose did you use to extend the washer fluid tube? I recall it looking something like 1/4" ID.
I'll look around for a stubby little bottle now.

Long time ago i bought a cheap vacuum gauge that came with a hose. I used that to extend it. Its a little bigger than a fish tank air hose. I know ace hardware should have that size. 1/8" id
Basically i flipped everything around. The best of all is that everything in the miata is already drilled for it since both abs and no abs use the same hood, same firewall and so forth.
go here and search coolant recovery If i had the chance of doing it again, i'd get the 1.5 qt bottle. i got the 2.5 bottle and its freaking big, the stock one is probably 1qt..
Zip Code Select | O'Reilly Auto Parts
search for Oreilly store. I've checked, Autozone, i've checked pepboys.. no one has it but Oreilly

does it come with its own water pump or do you have to install the stock mazda one? also what did you do with the motor that turns the wipers? mine is on the passenger side and that black cover if in the corner as well, i see yours is on the drivers side.

You NB guys are lucky. Much more engine bay room. For my wife's '02 FMII, I got a new washer bottle with pump and proper connector, all for $20. Fits perfectly right beside the coolant overflow tank!
If anyone wants one, they have them at the local "Princess Auto" (Canadian), or if you're in the states, I could pick you up one and ship it down to you.
