I just want to make sure I am not going to **** something up here. When I pulled the neck off the back of the engine (94) I found the lower bolt is really a stud and nut. I can just grab that ****** with some vice grips and unscrew it? I have been looking at write ups for the past 30 minutes and have found nothing that states "unscrew the stud and use the same bolt as the top" but this is what I assume will be happening.

On a side note I found that half of my thermostat is missing :(

Yeah, that stud is a bitch.

Easiest way to get it out is the jam-nut method. Thread a nut onto the stud, and then another nut. Tighten the two against each other, and use a wrench on the inner one to back the stud out.

If junk punches are sexual, yes.
