Got a weird thing happening with my car. Throttle response is utter ****. I press the throttle and it takes the engine like half a second to start revving, not nearly as good as a stock car or other boosted miatas I've driven. Car was swapped with a 1,8 paired to an MS3 2yrs ago, and boosted 4 months ago.
Things I've tried
- swap every single sensor that might affect throttle response
- check tune like a gazillion times
- swapped (stock) cops with other stock cops that work fine
- swapped injectors
-swapped fuel pump
-swapped spark plugs
-swapped the MAP hose for a teflon one for better air circulation
-checked every single vacuum hose on the motor, every thing is solid
The only thing i haven't tried is checking the MAP module inside the MS3, altho i doubt it's busted as I bought the ecu brand new 2 yrs ago.
Interesting thing happens tho. I once forgot to connect my MAP hose to the MAP sensor and cranked the car. while it ran like utter *****, response was dead on perfect.
A copy of your tune and of a log of this condition occurring are necessary if you want assistance.
Where did you source your map signal?
Ensure the hose is not squeezed, pinched, or kinked throughout its entire length. Disconnect both ends and blow with your mouth air through it to ensure it is not plugged with a foreign object.
Yup, the fact it worked well when you had way too much fuel (forgetting to connect the MAP) means it is likely going lean when you smash the throttle and it needs the AE tuned.
