that will be a good help to many people in the future. There are a few good threads on here and m.net, but nothing really difinitive.

I have both a WRX turbo and a Greddy TD04 and the TD04 even looks a little bigger than the WRX turbo. I haven't had them side by side yet because I have no reason to take the turbo out of either car. When that time comes I will post pics.

Also, huh... An upgrade it is...

Another advantage is price. Its not uncommon to see a wrx snail sell for $40 in good condition.

Im glad everything worked out well too, I was super stressed. Fins look good and the thing spins freely.

I had considered an adaptor plate but I would have to go to a shop to get it done or buy online..which is more of a cost issue.

yeah, that's one of the big advantages of this route. it's CHEAP to get the turbos themselves in pristine condition. if flanges for the turbo manifolds and downpipes were easier to get your hands on from vendors, it would be a much more viable option for thrifty diy'ers. :-)

let alone the chance to upgrade to a VF34....which is one hell of a good turbocharger IMO. On a usdm 2.0L wrx, with a good tune and well thought out supporting mods, it offers amazing response and great top end. Im sure it would be the same for any 1.8L miata
