stupid ? of the day...back to square one(Intercooler piping)
Just out of curiosity could flex exaust piping be used for intercooler piping, i notice its alot lighter than most exaust piping ...but can flex it what ever position you want it...I figure for 7 pounds of boost it should hold up with minamal issue...but then again I need a flippen review pf everything...:)
Flex exahaust piping should not be used. Its hardly air tight if even at all and it looks like shit.
ha That ansewers it, Stupid idiots around this area are retard! , this one guy even said to use the hard exaust piping.
Hard piping is fine.
really?
like what they sell in autozone and what not? |
You can but please don't. There are plenty of online retailer that offer mandrel bent piping that is very affordable. Not crimp bent aluminized bullshit.
not to be a ass, or annoying , but could you maybe give me a link , I dont remember where to start looking?

Ooh, that kit. Sure looks pretty, now if I could find someone to loan me that $550... So, at the moment, I'm planning to use my 1G Eclipse IC, but I wasn't sure if there is any real benefit to running the pipes below the radiator instead of above. I've seen both types linked on this site. Surely one could run larger pipes underneath, but my inlets are pretty small anyway.
There's no reason to run pipes under the radiator. Unless you have crazy outlets, it's fairly dangerous to do so, I'd never want pipes to stick down that low, or to sit against the radiator and heat up.
The benefit of running them above is to reduce the extra throttled volume created from lots of piping. |
Hmm, good call. Exactly what I was thinking, but why then are both Stripe's and Jim's kits routed underneath? I figure the holes on either side of the hood latch may have to be enlarged a bit, though eastcoast didn't seem to have any problems here. Other than that, you'd think the benefits would outweigh any difficulty.
My kit is routed around the radiator rather than underneath;)
