T3 outlet flange question
4 Attachment(s)
I recently test fit a downpipe I had fabricated by Abe at Artech. The turbo is a Garrett T3 60 trim from an old Ford Mustang SVO. I did not send the turbo to Abe because he said he had a T3 turbine housing he could use and I did not think that the 5 bolt outlet of my turbo would be any different from any other T3. The problem is, 2 of the 5 mounting holes for the outlet do not match the downpipe, as seen in the pictures. My question: Is it possible that the outlet on these old Ford turbos is different from that of a normal T3? I was under the impression that the 5 bolt "ford style" flange was the only 5 bolt outlet for T3 turbos.
Here is a 5 bolt gasket I found on ATP's website: Gasket for T3 5 Bolt (Ford Style) Turbine Outlet Flange : atpturbo.com Pictures: https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...1&d=1401337409 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...1&d=1401337409 |
I don't have direct experience with a ford style flange, but I had a normal t3 flange that didn't work on my turbine housing and it turned out that the larger Mercedes t3 flange fit.

It doesn't look like they post the dimensions for it either. |
