t3/t4 flange

Hey guys....

I was surfing through ebay and came across this turbo manifold:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT

product details states 'Best Fitment with T3/T4 Turbochargers and Internal Wastegates'

Will this flange work with a stock TD04 taken off a WRX.
anyone else have any other links to where I can buy something similar to ship to Singapore?

Many thanks.

Have you seen the footprint on a wrx tdo4?

I suppose that's your kind way of telling me I don't know any better?

18psi 10-23-2010 01:59 AM

I'm being nice here and holding back. I'm bored and this thread is a perfect opportunity for me to get creative on a motherfucker.:D

And you're welcome.

qes78 10-23-2010 02:04 AM

qes78 10-23-2010 02:04 AM

and whatever would I do without you guys.......

there are tons of different td04's with different footprints. the one for a WRX has a weird 3 bolt flange.

if he says its rectangular either
1) its not off a wrx
2) he is a retard and fire him

qes78 10-23-2010 02:14 AM

gotcha.
lemme take a look and i'll rever when i can

any idea which TD04 this is?
Attachment 193376

18psi 10-23-2010 02:30 AM

a wrx one.

Zabac 10-23-2010 02:24 PM

rectangle triangle all the same stuff

You will probably have to get a WRX flange and have it welded to whatever manifold you get...I dont know of one being produced.
Check with some of the fab guys from here, see if anyone wants to make you a custom manifold.

the volvo xc90 actually used a td04 with a t3 flange. The only reason I know that is we just did a turbo in an 06 xc90 2 weeks ago. FYI the oe td04 was leaking oil after only 41k.

qes78 10-23-2010 10:26 PM

thanks for the help guys. what other oe turbos would use a t3/t4 flange?
s15?

Cars that run t3/t4 turbos from the factory?

Edit: there is no t3/t4 flange, the hot side that needs the flanges for exhaust parts (manifold and downpipe) is a t3, with a t4 compressor connected to it.

yea...i've figured that out....the only problem is that it seems that the kind folks who are selling the manfolds all use the same description....which is t3/t4 flange.
buggeration

If you're dead set on using a turbo with a 3bolt flange like the wrx one, a custom mani may be your best route..

Or getting a turbine housing with the more traditional style flange

qes78 10-24-2010 11:33 PM

im already using a custom manifold. But i figured i might wanna go for a cast manifold instead, which isnt going to warp so easily.

qes78 10-25-2010 03:18 AM

since T25 does not equal t3, no.

Ok, so what type does fit on this manifold ?

Are you guys saying it is not a T3 bolt pattern ?

Aynbody know what cars can be used as donors ? and or a part number for a rebuilt turbo ?

Yes that manifold is a T3 flange design. You would do well to buy a new Chinese turbo from Ebay with a T3 flange also. I wouldn't get hung up chasing junkyard turbos and hoping that it will not need a complete rebuild. A new chinese T3 flanged turbo can be purchased for well under $200 all day long on Ebay. They come in several different sizes that all use a T3 flanged exhaust housing. Choose one with an internal wastegate.

HA!!! LMAO

Yeah but if I don't make life hard first it gets harder when it bites me in the ass later.
Remember I'm a complete noob at this . :noob:

If I order shit that sits around the garage because it doesn't fit my old lady will skin me alive. :giggle:

But seriously, I read conflicting stuff about Ebay/Chinese turbo quality.:hustler: Just trying to do things right and on a tight budget.

Thank you much for all the advice and patience. I really do appreciate it.
