T3 Trim Questions

So I was looking at a Ford T-bird T3 turbo.

Looks like there are 2 different ones (I might have the # reversed):

T3 .48/.60
T3 .63/.60

1) How much of a difference is there b/t the two?

2) Which is the one Brain runs?

Thanks.

the only difference in what you posted is the a/r of the turbine housing. Zero information on trim sizes.

My mistake. I don't know the trim.

Here are some pics of it:

This is a turbo I was interested in purchasing, so I don't have it in front of me.

Can someone who is familiar with this turbo (.60/.48) approximate:

1) How much power this is good for?
2) When will I see boost on a 1.6 w/ 2.5" exhaust?

do some research, you know what it came off of...

.60/.48 tells me two things only: it has a .60 A/r compressor housing and it has a .48 A/R turbine housing.

The turbine, since a factory unit, is more than likely the standard Stage-I wheel, so with teh .48 A/R housing it's a good size for a 1.6L; what I use.

As far as the compressor wheel is concerned, I have no clue what size it could be without doing the research for you. I'm sure I could type in google "Ford T-bird T3 turbo" find out everything you want to know and then copy in paste it over here, but instead I decided to use that time to write this reply instead.

My guess is going to be a 60 trim wheel capable of around 250-300rwhp or so.

Just buy it, install it, and let us know. I would think with the numbers you provided the .48 hotside would spool faster but like previously stated the size and type of wheel is what will really tell the tale.

Compressor *looks* like a 60 trim as the small ones didn't usually use the ford .60 housing.

A .48 stage I turbine is a good turbine for 250whp and below. It won't really do much more than that unless you get a better blade in that housing. Great inexpensive street turbo IMHO.

So what is the going price on one of these if it needs a rebuild?
