Hey Gang, I am still plodding away on my turbo upgrade to my MSM motor.
I am using the TwistedMotion t25/t28 hybrid turbo.. Why? Cause I got it for $100 new. At that price, I am fine if it sucks.. as I have a Garret t25 I am rebuilding for future use.

However, In order to clock it properly, and use the internal Wastegate.. i would have to weld a new mount block for the wastegate, as there is not enough to drill into. So in order to avoid it looking just horrible.. I am considering an external wastegate. But given that the Tacotaco is such a tight fit and has the external wastegate port on the bottom of the manifold, I am not sure what would fit.

Has anyone put an external WG on their TacoTaco for a 1.8? What did you use?

 

Pat is the 1st person I know of to do this.

Why in the world would you go to all this trouble to use perhaps the crappiest chinacharger of them all?

There is space for it below the mfld.

Move it around a bit with a weld el if necessary.
