Tec Ii - $500 Fm Dotd
Yeah, and while it's more unique to have the tec2, it doesn't look like it's any more capable than the new model pnp $400-500 piggies.
Anyone who passes on this with the trigger wheel (provided it is the miata specific one) is a fool! It's an awesome deal, sure it's not a TEC-IIIR but it's good enough to make serious power. Ask anyone who uses one and you'll be hard pressed to get them to let go of it. By the way, it uses CHEAP GM sensors... so don't worry much about the sensors.
The best thing about the TEC-II/III is the ignition system. There is no other reason that I can run 115+ MPH in the 1/4 mile ON PUMP GAS. It's the ignition, it's freaking unbelievable. Unlike any other system the TEC pushes over 9 amps through the coils. I used to run MSD-DIS's on the Haltech's just to get close to the performance that the TEC has. I could have gotten a Haltech for FREE, yet I purchased a TEC-III, maybe that will tell you something.

Markp,
So are the maps from the TECIIIR backward compatible? Might be nice for someone to have a base map of say a CHINESE T3/T04E to tinker around with.
Probably need custom plug wires for this.

Its a great system, but I don't have the time and energy to hastle with it, same reason I decided not to use a measquirt this time around, the emanage will be suficient for my needs.
I hope someone who is very serious about going fast will pick it up and put it to good use.
