Well, this one is coming out...a bit overkill for the power levels the car is currently making. More to come as I rebuild with more appropriate setup. I didn't put this in by the way, it was added by the previous owner to achieve 500 rwhp (which he did).

 

Let me go ahead and stop you right now, since you're still building. You want a v-mount. I spent about 3-years wishing I had one and just finally found a decent solution, it's not optimal of course but it will do. Do the v-mount before you start welding.

 

Well, I just bought Johns extractor hood, so that would support a v mount setup pretty well. I also happen to have the intercooler than john used in his V mount setup at my disposal.

My main issue is radiator placement, with my custom intake manifold, the throttle body sits further forward than with a factory intake. This makes it more difficult to lean the radiator back. Obviously, most of the front of this car has been gutted, so the first task is to add some structure between the frame rails.

 

I'd move the bottom of the radiator forward, lie the intercooler flat, with the oil cooler next to the FMIC on the same "plane", then box everything to the mouth, building a chamber. Spend your time on this section, I went through a lot of heart-ache and sleepless nights contemplating this on my car and my shitty, stacked set-up. Although, it works well. Remember that ducting the intercooler makes it exponentially more efficient and you don't need one that large. Let me know if you need a link to a roll of plastic that just strong enough to work that can be cut to shape with a box cutter. You can even get pink plastic now, I know you'll love it.

 

Does the pink plastic have a fleshy life-like feel? Nevermind....
