Turbo close to PS line & coolant hose

First off, NO I'M NOT DELETING THE POWERSTEERING. As you can see in the pic, the outlet of the turbo (the yellow tape) is hitting the PS hose. It's also right above a coolant hose as well. Any suggestions on how I should re-located/move/possibly shorten that PS hose? Should I keep it as far from the outlet as possible? Same goes for the coolant hose. You can't see in the pic, but it's about 2 inches from the outlet of the turbo. I figured once the piping gets attached to the outlet, I could heat wrap that coolant hose or just make some heat shield to protect it.

shorten the ps hose to sit closer to pump
get a fm lower rad hose

done

The outlet of the compressor won't be much hotter than engine bay temps. The real heat is further back in the turbine. So, give yourself enough clearance to avoid rubbing and call it a day.

^Thanks guys. I didn't know if that outlet would get crazy hot or not. I have some left over heat wrap that I may just use to be safe. My Dad agreed on shortening that hose so I'll have a go at it today. And I'll also purchase the FM hose. Had no idea those existed!

I would also clock the turbo 5-10 degrees anti-clockwise, possibly clearancing the "shelf" a bit more if necessary.

I lengthened mine and went behind the compressor outlet.

You can also twist that metal pipe a little bit, it will rotate some. I twisted mine down a bit so the hose doesn't rub on anything.

Shorten the fitting on the pws pump. Hack saw and debur.

Try a 21 inch 1.25 ID flex hose from NAPA for easy water hook up.

corky

I made it easy. I just clocked it. I thought clocking was a crazy hard task but it turns out it's really easy. 4 bolts & the snap ring. This is a mock-up now. No clearance issues at all!

with that routing you could just run 01+ headlights and copy my "over the top" routing behind the headlight.

but either way works

I need to go find those pictures and see how you did it. I have a set of NB2 headlights to swap into my 99.
