turbo ignition help
Quick intro. So after picking up my new-used 02 Miata 3 weeks ago, I'm ready to get back into the turbo game. I come from the turbo SR20 world and I'm anxious to get my daily driven Miata up to the fun factor that my turbo SR was. So I've been making a shopping list of turbo bits and pieces and am set on the basics of DIY kit. This is a low budget build for a daily driver so low boost is all that I'm after.
I'm thinking another SR20 T25, HKS manifold, DSM BOV, ebay intercooler should cover the "air" part of the equation. For the "fuel" part of the equation, I was thinking I would keep my stock 265cc injectors, Walbro pump, and a Vortech 10:1 FMU. Now for the "spark" piece of the equation, well that's where I'm still researching and would like opinions if you don't mind. A simple solution would be fine as I don't plan to tinker with upping the boost and such, nor do I plan to track the car in any way. I just want a little more grunt for my daily driver without major hassle. OK thanks and back to my research...

Errr..hold the boat there mate....
The '02 miatas have a returnless fuel system meaning that putting on a vortec fpr isnt going to be easy...they also have higher compression meaning more likelyhood of detonation and a smaller "tuning window"...id look at a emanage blue or megasquirt for a much better tuning solution tha two very very old and unsophisticated pieces of gear.
Also..as you dont need a new fuel pump with the emanage or mega squirt the cost is the same as a bipes/walbro/afpr setup but gives superior tuning ability.
