turbo outlet issues

Hello everybody,
Why no line up??? Its a t25 off of a 180sx and a FM outlet manifold. Am i missing something here?? |
can you separate the turbo from downpipe and take pictures of both bolt patterns?
the turbo is probably not a standard T25 |

can we see a pic of just the turbo outlet? Could be that nissan turbo has a slightly different outlet. I know the GTR ones did.

looks like the normal outlet...

So just got off the phone with FM tech support (very polite individual) and apparently the FM outlet manifold only works with the ball bearing gerretts, unless you want to drill out the holes on your brand new cast manifold.
|
didnt realize there was a difference in outlet between the journal and ball bearing T25s.
does your outlet not match the one i posted above? almost postive theres plently of people on this site that have used the FM manifold and DP on the old SR20 t25 turbo. |
I have not measured the outlet yet. I will this evening. Per Eric over at FM, there is a miniscule difference between the jurnal bering and ball bering Gerretts. I'm a little confused that mine does not fit. I must have stumbled across a odd ball t25. I read through multiple threads on this site about guys here using the FM kits with the sr20 turbo, which led me to buy the FM kit.

We get the cheap t25's off the 240's not the 180's. So that might explain the difference.
|
I guess I'm ignorant on the difference between The 240s and 180s

OP, did you pick up the turbo from an older CA18 motor and not an SR20?
|
I'm not totally sure. I found it on Craigslist and then researched the ID plate. It came back to a 180sx.
