Got a used EFR and from eBay. It arrived today in seemingly good physical condition. Both wheels looks almost new with very little to no shaft play, and both spin freely.

However, I see a bit of oil on the turbine wheel as well as exhaust side housing / vband. Is that something to be concerned with ?

 

No, looks like assembly/factory oil. At least the new turbos I've bought all had a layer of thin oil over everything on the turbine side.

 

I would be very concerned if the compressor and turbine wheels spun differently. Light oil, not so much.
worst case it needs seals, about a 250 dollar job.
