Vac line for BOV

Vac line for BOV
I tapped (well, t'd) into the vac fitting that is right behind the throttle body. The hose goes to the sensor that is related to the charcoal canister (have no idea what all that junk is for). Is this going to work? Do I still need the charcoal canister and all the associated vac lines?
