Vent Mount Boost Guage Again
#21
I still have the stocker. I would love the look of the Nardi wheel with a brg car, but I hear that at the track/auto-x on a hot day when your palms are a little sweaty, that wheel gets slick. I'm on the lookout for a good d-cut wheel that doesn't block the gauge cluster for a little more legroom to heel-toe.

I originally mounted my AFM in the airvent, but was concerned about the potential damage when running the vents on hot. I went to our local hardware and bought a 50mm (2 inch) PVC pipe end cap.
Drill a 5mm hole in the centre of it, and fit a 5mm galvanised cup head screw so it sticks out. You can then fit the pipe cap quite deep into the pipe in the vent - it fits nice and tight, and blocks the vent off so no more hot air into the electronics in the gauge. The screw allows you to position it, and remove the cap if you change your mind..... I even made a little cut out to accomodate the wiring to the gauge.
I don't have pics, but it's easy to work out what I did if you check out the plumbing supply section at your local hardware.
