hmm, thats shitty. I havent had a good look at the exhaust since i got it. I noticed a large improvement. Maybe i will take it to a different guy and ask him to put it up and look for what he thinks may be restricting it and tell him that i will pay him to fix whatever it is.

similar experience

My first dyno plot looks very similar with a torque fall. I'm running a universal cat that flows <300cfm and my ecu pulled out a full 10* of IGN advance (thus peak hp at 5700rpm).

Braineack 06-06-2008 01:01 PM

he has 18* at redline.

oh, oops

nice job wess the peeps at automotion are definatley cool. They dont run corrected numbers most of the time unless you ask them to. Next time you go back try the 0-60 and 1/4 mile option cyndie i believe her name was says it is a very consistant indicator on what you could run with out spinning etc.

wes65 06-06-2008 02:56 PM

yeah, cyndie or however you spell her name. That was her. It was a great experience and i definitely will go back.

what do you mean log it against your wastegate?

Braineack 06-06-2008 03:14 PM

if i log a 3rd gear pull utilizing my ebc solenoid vs making the same psi with my wategate.

I make 11psi with my wastegate, i run 12psi with my ebc. I make 12psi at 3750RPM when i use my EBC. I make 11psi at 4900RPM with an open wastegate line.

wes65 06-06-2008 03:16 PM

wow, so mbc is about middle ground?

Braineack 06-06-2008 03:19 PM

yeah, a MBC is much improved. the reason is being able to keep the wastegate closed while you make your target boost level. But even a mbc has to start opening as the preload of the spring gets overwhelmed, this cracks open the wategate, and you loose spooling power as the exhaust fails to pass over the turbine.

wes65 06-06-2008 03:43 PM

yeah, im running an mbc right now. I can only imagine the shitty spool if i was running wastegate pressures.

wes65 06-06-2008 03:44 PM

so brain, what does your spark map look like? I would like to see if i can get it to spool a bit quicker.

Driving Impressions???

I know you are not totally happy with your dyno sheet but what are your driving impressions of your current set and tune? Taking the dyno sheet out of the picture, is this tune/setup seem like something you could live with easily? Sorry for all the questions............:)

y8s 06-06-2008 04:06 PM

if you want to see your maximum spool potential...

set your boost spark/fuel cut at your max boost

and remove your WG line*

*AT YOUR OWN DAMN RISK!:yippee:

wes65 06-06-2008 05:38 PM

lol, i guess that would work but no.

I am very happy with the way the car drives. The only thing I've lost to was an 11 second trans am and i beat him once because he couldn't hook up. The car pulls hard and the power is very usable. I was worried about the spool time of the bigger gt28 and you can see it on the dyno but as far as daily driving, not a big deal. I still have plenty of passing power and i can fill gaps in traffic very easily. Honestly, if i hadn't dyno'ed it, i wouldn't be looking for more power. However, now that i see that the power is there for the taking, i want it. now. I'm looking for a stockish c6 vette to go against. That is kind of a benchmark for me.

wes65 06-08-2008 01:51 PM

Okay, i got to thinking, would a slipping clutch cause my dyno chart to look like this? I have noticed my clutch slipping lately. I raced an srt4 from a dig and i had to just let out the clutch slip was so bad. I'm going to call the guy that sold me the clutch and see what he can do to help me out.

(all races described in this post were performed on a track, street racing is illegal and dangerous.)

Not that one. My stock 2003 made 130hp on that same dyno.

So i am thinking that it is a little clutch slip action. I am going to swap the clutch and try to make it to the dyno again.
