At least that's what I think it is:







The center section is junk. Broken shaft, gritty bearings. Both housings are fine. I would love to find a cheap used journal bearing turbo that I could take the center section from. Or even better, buy a new cheapish journal bearing CHRA for these housings. Any suggestions?

Failing that, are the housings worth anything?

 

ive seen both housings sold on ebay, for people looking to switch up combinations of things.. few bucks there.. or how much would a re build cost... all the basics are there, you just need the few moving parts to be repllaced. Bearings, shafts, mabye impellers.

If you have a use for it i would see about a rebuild, if not, sell the housings separately and pocket a few bucks.

So far, the main option (besides helping paul decorate his wall) seems to be buying a 2560 or 2871 CHRA, and saving a couple hundred bucks off the full price of the turbo. Still more expensive than I was planning on though.

Does anyone know anything about usturbo.net? They have a cross for a 2871 CHRA for less than $600, but I've never heard of them and it's not clear that it is a Garrett part or a knockoff. 446179-0032
