I cant believe this ****, I ran into another ******* brick wall with my turbo install.

The studs that came on my T25 are too short for the Begi S manifold so I need to replace them.

Chad suggest I go and get some bolts of the same thread and pitch as my studs just longer, good idea. I went to get the bolts but I cant use them with there downpipe because of how its designed. Great. Thank god they only cost like 4 bucks.

What length studs do I need to buy so they are long enough to be used with there fat downpipe flange?

The ones I have are 20mm.

 

40 to 45mm studs should be perfect. Pretty sure mine are 45s and after test fitting the DP with washers they look great.

You know what that means? if 40 - 45 would be perfect. That means that the studs go pretty deep into the housing considering with the ones that I had they lack about 10mm to clear the flange and a bolt.

Id like to know for certain what Begi uses 100%. This non sense is pissing me the **** off to the point where im ready to quit this ****.

 

why don't you just order them from BEGi, silly?

 

Cause they are probably going to cost like 4 bucks a piece. But ill call em tomorrow and find out for fun.

I can also just get some grade 8 bolts, cut the tops off em and then just get nuts for em. Now I have studs.

 

buy all thread, cut it to length, clean the ends with a grinder and file. perfect length everytime. I keep a stash of common metric 316SS all thread in the garage just in case.

 

Why can't you just measure the flange thickness and buy studs that have enough length to clear the flange thickness plus whatever nut you are using. Or you could even bring all your **** into the hardware store and I bet that somebody working there will hold your hand through the whole process.

 

I don't know how deep the studs go into the housing.

Besides, its one simple question. With the correct length I dont have to drag my **** to the hardware store and invent the bicycle.

 

That is not how studs are measured. Most automotive studs have a fixed length on one end, the end that goes in the housing or threaded hole. The other end is what is longer or shorter when going from a 30 to a 50 mm stud. Quit worrying about how deep it goes in because that isn't a big deal.

I measured the ones I have wrong, they are 35mm.

 

So going to 45mms (.39" longer) should work?
The flange is exactly .38" thick. Just measured it.
